Page 1, Col. 2 Alex Choate Alexander Choate, born in Dade County, March 5, 1854, died at the home of his son Harrison in Mt. Vernon, Nov 8, 1928. He was married to Leva Ann Nowell in 1874 and two sons and a daughter born to them. Harrison of Mt. Vernon, Jackson of Miller and Mrs. Sallie Hertzog of Ash Grove. He was a member of the Christian Church nearly all his life. Services were held at the Merrick Cemetery north of Pennsboro, Friday afternoon, Rev. R. A. Fox, pastor of the Mt. Vernon Christian Church officiating.
